Master Bedroom: Classic, Coastal Palette Breakdown

Master Bedroom: Classic, Coastal Palette Breakdown

When creating a master bedroom that doubles as a classic, coastal retreat, there are a few key characteristics to incorporate.

1. Neutral and natural is the foundation. Start with a neutral headboard and an accessory like a simple vase.

2. Then consider your tonal colors, but be careful not to overwhelm the space. Shop for a subtle chevron bedspread, and add in a floral accent for a hint of color.

3. As you build your bedroom palette, keep your room bright and airy with contrasting whites, off-whites and cool hues. Layering your whites will keep your room warm, soothing and light.

4. Be sure to follow your color palette. Consistency is key, but I encourage you to mix things up with a variety of soft, patterned pillows and throw blanket.

5. The last vital ingredient for your classic, coastal palette is integrating texture. In this master bedroom, we curated a textured look with woven bedside pendants and a geometric headboard wall. Next week we'll share with you how to recreate this headboard wall so check back with us on our studio blog!
