1.) Texture is key. When layering carpet, it is important to vary the texture. Area rugs add an easy elegant touch to any space. This one is soft and light, anchoring the room.

2.) Color does it. When choosing to layer carpet, make sure the colors complement each other. Complementing colors bring contrast and elevation within a room. These 2 here add a significant pop!

3.) Size makes a difference. It is better for your rug to begin just before the bedside tables than float in the middle of a room. As you see in the design below, the rug is perfectly scaled to the room and aligned with the bed for a finishing touch.
